Abigail's Tales

We're just chillin' on a Saturday morning. Granddaddy and Grammy got here last night and spent the night at "Uncle" Mike and "Aunt" Laura's place down the hall. That sure was nice of them to take a road trip and leave their apartment open for guests! Daddy's in their room right now studying. He sure is a good student!

Mommy found some photos we haven't posted yet, so you can see them below. The first group is from a shower given by Mommy and Daddy's Sunday School class earlier this month. The next group is from a "photo shoot" done by Miz Lauren. I think Mommy should be a model, don't you?

We're having a great time together, but we're still looking foward to Tuesday, "D-Day" (Delivery Day). I'll be sure to post a note upon my arrival.

OK, pardners. Here's the dilly-o: I'm still in here. I was due yesterday. Wassup with that?

Mommy says she changed her mind and now wants to hold onto me as long as possible, so she'll get more time off to be home for Christmas! (At first, I thought she wanted me to wait until Christmas, but that's just not going to happen!)

Meanwhile, Doc says, if I'm not outta here by Tuesday, he's going to do what he can to start me on my journey on down the canal. So, it now looks as if the Eyes of Texas are going to be upon me sometime next week, at the latest!

And, get this...I'm going to have ALL FOUR of my grandparents here in the Welcoming Party! Granddaddy and Grammy are flying down tonight and Grandpa and Grandma are already close by, along with Aunt Dawn. It'll be pink bubble-gum cigars for everybody!

Well, this little cowgirl and her longsuffering Mommy need all the rest we can get for the BIG DAY, so I'll sign off now.

Well, that's a fine howdy-do!

Now, they're telling me that I'd better move along out of here by next Tuesday morning, or they're going to give Mommy something to get me going!

So much for their "due date" of tomorrow!

I haven't decided yet whether to spend another weekend in here or just start working my way out.

Daddy says Granddaddy and Grammy are planning on flying in to be with us on Friday night, so I guess it would be rude to arrive before they get here! (Grandpa, Grandma and Aunt Dawn are already nearby).

Anyway, I'll keep you "posted" on the latest developments. Looks like, one way or t'other, my days on the inside are NUMBERED!

Well, pardner, I've just got a few more days in here and then, I'm gonna meet the world!

The doctor told Mommy she's going to deliver me on the 28th. Mommy told Daddy and all their friends and relatives I'm going to be born on the 28th. However, they don't realize that I'M the one in charge, here! And I don't even have a calendar!

I don't want to wait too, long, though, because I think Mommy's getting uncomfortable. TELL me about it! Have you ever had to cross your legs and arms and hang upside down in a bowl of water? Have you? Huh?

Sorry about that. Guess I'm getting anxious, too. Keep us in your prayers and, maybe, just maybe, this time next week, I'll be outta here!

Well, pardner, Mommy's fit to be tied! She's ready to unload me and let Daddy carry me for a while!

I'm not scheduled to leave here until September 28, but she says, at 7 1/2 pounds, I'm already big enough to take on the world!

A friend of hers heard that if you eat eggplant parmesan, it'll make the baby come faster and she did and the baby came! So, guess what Mommy had for lunch today? How can she EAT that stuff?

So far, I haven't decided to make my debut early, but we'll see!

Mommy's also been walking around outside a lot to encourage me to move, but I will when I'm good 'n ready!

She has a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon to see if she's dilated. Is that like dilapidated?

I'll have the folks take some photos when the big day arrives and I'll post them on my blog, so stay tuned!
