Happy Halloween!
Boo!
Did I scare ya? For some reason, everybody's trying to scare each other around here. Something to do with some guy named Hal O'Ween, whoever that is! Sounds Irish!
Well, I'm almost four weeks old now and I'm growing like a weed, according to the big people. That allows me to wear some new clothes and I especially enjoy a cowgirl outfit I got from Miz Linda (see photo below).
I STILL don't like to take baths, but they haven't gotten the message yet, because Mommy and Daddy keep making me take them!
Last week, I got to sit in Dr. Pentecost's lap. He's famous around here because he's written lots and lots of books. You can learn more about him by going to: http://www.dts.edu/about/faculty/jpentecost/
We talk a lot about sleep around here. I can sleep anywhere, but one of my favorite places is in my Daddy's arms. Back when Mommy and I had the "thrush," I started drinking some kind of formula and I slept all night long! Now that I'm back on Mommy's milk, I like to wake her up every three hours for another helping!
I gotta go now and help Daddy carve up the pumpkin. I'll save some of the seeds for you!
Happy Trails!
Love,
Abbey Dawn

19 Days Old!
Well, howdy there, pardners! Abbey Dawn here again.
Sorry I haven't written in a while, but I've got my days and nights all mixed up and it's hard to get time on the computer!
Granddaddy planted a tree in my honor in his front yard and calls it The Abbey Tree. It's a Bracken's Brown Magnolia and he says it's a Southern tree that reminds him of me! Maybe someday I'll be able to climb in it (when it and I are a little bit older!) Last year, he planted a Cherry Tree in his yard and named it The Jayme Tree for my cousin! Now, we'll both be able to watch our own trees grow up while we do!
Me and my cousin Jayme have lots of things in common. For example, we both LOVE to wear hats! I've got lots of them, but some of them are still a bit too big! (see photo below) We also both like to wear clips and bows in our hair.
I've been exercising my lungs during the night and sleeping during the day, so Daddy and Mommy are getting some sleep whenever they can! I'm glad Mommy doesn't have to go back to work, yet, so she can stay up with me. When I do sleep, I like to sleep next to my Womb Bear, which has a heartbeat that sounds just like Mommy's. It helps me to relax and I like it a lot!
I had something called "thrush" last week, but I don't anymore! I passed it along to Mommy! Please keep her in your prayers because we've been having some trouble getting together at meal-time, if you know what I mean! Good thing Daddy knows how to handle a bottle!
I'm excited about Halloween coming up! Mommy made me a cute little Chili Pepper costume and I can't wait to wear it! Cousin Jayme says she's going to be a Snow Princess this year and I bet she'll be BEAUTIFUL!
Time to sign off again, so until we meet again, Happy Trails to You!
Love,
Abbey Dawn

My First Weekend!
Howdy, Pardners! Abbey Dawn here, reporting from the ranch on my first weekend at home!
The past few days have been filled with excitement! It all started on Thursday night, when I took my first shopping trip to Target! Everybody asked how old I was and, when they heard that I was only two days old, they asked what I was doing out in public so soon! Then, they looked at Mommy and said, "What are YOU doing out in public so soon?" Mommy just smiled and said I gave her an exceptionally easy delivery and she was feeling just fine!
Everybody says I have unusual strength for a newborn because I can lift my legs in the air and lift my head straight up when I'm on my tummy. Yes, I do try to keep in shape!
I'm starting to get my days and nights mixed up. Yesterday, I slept most of the day and I woke up at 3:00 a.m. this morning, ready to play! Grammy stayed up with me while Mommy got some much-needed sleep!
I've got lots of hair and everybody likes to play with it, so I have to get lots of shampoos. This morning, Mommy put my wet hair in spikes so we could take a picture (see below). I think I looked funny!
Last night, Grandpa took us all out to dinner at Texas de Brazil and the big people ate steak, lambchops, filet mignon, mashed potatoes, salad and lots of good stuff! I only had Mommy's milk because I don't have any teeth, yet. But, I can't wait until I do!
Oh, well, Mommy, Grammy and I are going out shopping again, so I'll have to sign off. Daddy and Granddaddy are going to stay home and watch football on TV. I'll be back in touch real soon!
Love,
Abbey Dawn
P.S. Many of the pictures below were taken by Miz Lauren, a professional photographer, who lives in our building. She really knows what she's doing!

My First Night At Home
Howdy, Pardners!
I spent my first night at my new home last night and I SLEPT LIKE A BABY! (I woke up every half-hour and cried!)
Grammy was a big help because she gave me my binky when I needed it and carried me to Mommy at feeding time. Mommy says I have a HUGE appetite and I must take after Daddy!
This morning, I got dressed up in my new pink dress and white booties and Daddy took me to his workplace to show me off. I'm wearing some of the hair clips Aunt Dawn brought me. Mommy says he looked as proud as a peacock as he carried me around to meet his coworkers!
When we got back I took a bath in the kitchen sink (how embarrasing!) and I didn't like it one bit. Then, Mommy shampooed my hair and that was okay because I was all bundled up except for my head. I actually enjoyed that!
We've had visitors all day long and I feel like an NFL football, I've been passed around so much! This afternoon, I opened my eyes and looked up at Mommy, studying her pretty face. I can't wait to learn how to talk so I can thank her and Daddy for taking such good care of me!
I say my prayers every night, thanking the Lord that He placed me in such a loving home!
Thanks for visiting and be sure to check out the new photos below!

Home At Last!
Everything went so well at the hospital that they let me out this afternoon and I'm already at home in my new room! It's much easier updating my blog from the outside, so I'll be posting more photos than normal.
The first one below is of me being held by my Aunt Dawn. Her first name is my middle name! What a coincidence! Daddy says she cried when she found out, but I don't know why. I thing she should be happy about it!
Mommy and Daddy didn't get much sleep last night at the hospital because I kept waking them up when I needed to burp. They called it "gas bubbles" but I know better. They were BURPS!
Granddaddy and Grammy came by to see me and Granddaddy said I was a sweetie and that he was going to take me home with him! Mommy and Daddy said that's not going to happen. Mommy says she spent too much time and trouble getting me here to let me go so easily. Besides, Granddaddy has Cousin Jayme to play with when he gets home!
The first thing Mommy wanted to drink today was a Black Cherry Vanilla Coke! Grammy brought her one from the cafeteria and Mommy says it tasted SO GOOD because it was the first one she's had since January!
The doctors at the hospital gave me a hearing test and I passed with flying colors. Mommy and Daddy must have good hearing, too, because they come running everytime I scream for something!
Then, the doctors gave me an ultrasound test to be sure my kidneys were working properly (Daddy could have told them they were, because he's been changing my diapers!) They said they're in fine shape. THAT'S an answer to PRAYER! Thanks for praying for me!
Finally, they said we could go home and Daddy went to put my new carseat in the car and bring the car around to pick us up. Mommy and I got to ride down the elevator in a wheelchair and Daddy drove us home in the backseat, like we were being chauffered!
You should have SEEN all the PEOPLE waiting in our apartment to see us come home! There was Melissa, Kevin, Laura, Mike, Amy, Rocky, Lauren, Matt, Brad, Crystal, Keira, Andrew, Lily, Rob, Jodie, Ansley, Jon, Kim, Jackson, Misty, Jen and some more people I don't even know yet! Mommy says we've got lots of built-in babysitters on the hall!
Well, it's about time for me to settle down for my first night in my own home, so I'll sign off now. But, keep checking back every day for new pictures!
Happy Trails!

Abbey Dawn

Hello, World!
Abbey Dawn here, reporting from OUTSIDE the womb, for a change!
At 12:50 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, after putting Mommy through about 5 hours of labor, I decided to make my appearance!
I weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, I'm 19-3/4 inches long and I have lots of dark hair!
I'm doing well, Mommy's doing great and Daddy's hungry and sleepy, but says he's doing fine!
The doc says he's pleased with my output, so they're not as concerned about my kidneys anymore. Speaking of output, I gave Daddy his first experience with changing a REAL DIRTY diaper tonight! Mommy says he's a real trooper!
I'm eating well, thanks to Mommy and sleeping, and sneezing. Okay, I do cry a little bit when they change my clothes or my diaper, but, all in all, I'm pretty quiet!
Daddy was in the room when I was born and Granddaddy and Grammy almost heard the whole thing from the bathroom! They had just been asked to step in there while Mommy got another epidural shot. Then the nurse checked Mommy's centimeters and said I was on my way right then and there! They did let Granddaddy and Grammy out of the bathroom so they could go to the waiting room, but that was close!
Lots of pictures were taken and I'm going to post a bunch below, so, check them out! I can't wait to see you in person! Be sure to schedule your visit soon!
